05FAQ

Common questions.

Do I need to rip out my existing locks?

No. Most access control hardware installs alongside your existing mechanical lock. You keep the physical key as backup, but daily access is by code/fob/phone.

What about power outages?

Depends on hardware spec. Fail-safe = unlocks on power loss (good for emergency egress). Fail-secure = stays locked. For exterior building entry we typically spec fail-secure with battery backup.

Can I revoke a fob if someone leaves?

Instantly, on networked systems. Standalone keypads require a code change, which we can do remotely or you can do via the keypad menu.

Will it integrate with my building intercom?

For most modern intercoms (Doorbird, ButterflyMX, Latch), yes — they have access control built in or integrate with major systems. We confirm compatibility before quoting.
